Determined to stay on the cutting edge of popular music, recording artiste Uplift is currently promoting the Afrobeat-dancehall fusion single Call Me, featuring Talis
« From the very first time I heard an Afrobeat song, I’ve been fascinated with that genre of music. So, when I was working this project, I decided to fuse Afrobeat with dancehall to create a new sound and I am very happy with the results, » said the artiste.
The song, which was produced by Uplift, was released on his Uplift Entertainment label in July. Since then, it has been enjoying heavy rotation, both locally and overseas.
« The response to this song has been tremendously positive. It’s generating a lot of airplay in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean area, the States, Canada, Africa and Europe, » he said. Eager to keep the momentum going, he released a video for the song on September 7.
« Since we dropped the video, we’ve seen an uptick in streams on several platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. So, the video is definitely giving it a boost, » said Uplift.
The hard-working deejay has several other singles in the works that he plans to release soon, including a single with Nigerian recording artiste Pupapatee.
« This is the next single I plan to release, it’s going to be a scorcher, » he said.
