Reopening of the OCHA Humanitarian antenna in N’Guigmi
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reopened its antenna in N’Guigmi at the end of September 2023 after an absence of more than four years. A team of two people (a humanitarian affairs officer and a driver) has been redeployed from the Diffa Office. The aim of this redeployment is not only to ensure local coordination focusing on a zone approach, but also to strengthen the implementation of the Flagship Initiative in this locality. Prior to the opening, from 19 to 22 September 2023, OCHA conducted a mission to revitalize the commune’s consultation framework, take an active part in the preparation of the workshop on the revision of the Communal Development Plan (CDP) while ensuring that humanitarian aspects and sustainable solutions are taken into account, and set up data collection and planning tools.
