DR Congo: The Integrated Analytics Cell (CAI) – 2022 Annual Report – Democratic Republic of the Congo
Introduction: CAI’s key achievements in 2022
The Integrated Analytics Cell (CAI) conducted 15 analyses using the Integrated Outbreak Analytics (IOA) approach (providing a holistic understanding of health dynamics using multiple disciplines, data sources, methods and actors) in 7 provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) covering 8 public health issues, including: Ebola, cholera, women’s and adolescents’ health, malnutrition, gender-based violence, diarrhoea, polio and anaemia.
To strengthen the use of the evidence, CAI’s analyses are developed under the General Directorate for Disease Control (Direction Générale de la Lutie contre la Maladie – DGLM) of the Congolese Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene and Prevention (MSPHP) jointly with relevant decision makers (local health actors, UN implementing partners and NGOs). The results of all these analyses were presented 118 times to different stakeholders, creating space for the co-development of recommendations addressing the findings. This resulted in the co-development of 281 actions contributing to 117 recommendations that addressed these findings. Of these, 91 % were implemented within the targeted schedule in 2022.
